An Ongoing Workshop for all who identify as women

We Are…
An ongoing, supportive, workshop-style group that meets monthly to offer midlife women practices and camaraderie for navigating the midlife journey. Like midwives do for birth, we embrace the idea of creating intentional, sacred space to honor this life transition.
We Are Not…
A therapy support group. Though our monthly gatherings include creating supportive space and discussion, and some practices that can be therapeutic, these are all contained within a
more casual workshop model.
(Our facilitator is not a therapist, and we encourage women experiencing more traumatic or debilitating symptoms to seek out a professional therapist or support group, as we’re not equipped or designed for this purpose.)
How We Work… We meet the First Monday of Each Month from 7p.m.-9p.m. (come as early as 6:30pm for social time) at Palomar UU Fellowship (PUUF), 1600 Buena Vista Drive, Vista.
Like all regular groups at PUUF, we co-created a covenant, which we read at the
beginning of each meeting to remind us how we want to be together.
- We want to practice:
- Confidentiality (What happens in the room, stays in the room.)
- Compassionate, Active Listening (No crosstalk. Save advice for afterwards, and for when asked.)
- Non-Judgment (Assume good intentions.)
- Support (It is OK to pass and/or to cry.)
- Sensitivity (Be sensitive to others’ possible sensitivities—physical, emotional, etc. On that note, please refrain from wearing strong scents.)
- Balance of Sharing (Use timers. Remember “Step Up/Step Back”—if you share/talk a lot, consider stepping back; if you rarely share/talk, consider stepping up.)
- Understanding (Seek first to understand.)
- Acceptance (Honor that everyone “hits” midlife at different times and experiences it in different ways.)
- Joy (Fun, good humor and laughter welcome!)

Each month we meet to share, learn and be in community. We use our fellowships spiritual themes to guide us through topics that help us navigate this time in our lives.
